The clothes pins are for a game...each person gets 3 when they arrive, and you pick a word that is "forbidden" like baby or something. Then if you hear someone say baby, you get one of their pins. Of course EVERYONE is going to say baby at a baby shower, so it makes it interesting...then whoever has the most at the end, wins.
